What VidStow is for, and what you get when you pay.

What VidStow is for

VidStow is a desktop app for saving YouTube videos to your own computer so you can watch them offline. Use it for videos you have the right to keep: your own uploads, Creative Commons and public-domain work, and videos whose creator allows downloading. Where the law where you live allows personal copies, that is up to you to judge, and you are responsible for what you save.

Please don’t use VidStow to re-upload, sell or share other people’s videos, or to pass paid or members-only videos to people who haven’t paid for them. VidStow does not remove DRM or any other copy protection, and it can’t save videos that use it.

VidStow is not affiliated with YouTube or Google. YouTube has its own terms of service, and they apply to you when you use YouTube, including through VidStow.

Plans and licenses

VidStow is sold as a monthly plan, an annual plan, or a one-time lifetime license. Every plan includes every feature and works on up to three of your own computers, on macOS, Windows or Linux in any mix. To move a license to a new computer, deactivate it on the old one from inside the app. A license is for you, or for one person at your company; please don’t share your key.

Monthly and annual plans renew automatically until you cancel. When you cancel, VidStow keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for. A lifetime license is paid once and includes every update we release for as long as we develop VidStow.

Orders are handled by Dodo Payments, which acts as the reseller and appears on your receipt. It takes care of payment, tax and invoices, and its own terms apply to the purchase.

The free trial

You can try VidStow without a card. When the trial ends, downloading stops until you choose a plan. The files you already saved are yours and stay on your computer either way.

Refunds

If VidStow isn’t right for you, ask within 14 days of a payment and we will refund it. The refund policy explains how.

Updates and what we can promise

YouTube changes how it works from time to time, and some changes break downloading for a while. We fix those as quickly as we can, but we can’t promise that every video will always download. VidStow is provided as it is, without warranties, and to the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect losses or for more than you paid us in the last twelve months.

We may end a license that is being used to break these terms, for example a key shared publicly or VidStow used to redistribute other people’s videos. We will tell you first by email when we can.

Changes and contact
